Thirteen nights crossing the Atlantic for £467.50 per person sounds daft — and you're right to be suspicious. But if you've got the time and don't mind mostly being at sea, this Celebrity Constellation cruise from San Juan to Barcelona might actually stack up.

Why we like it

The per-night cost is genuinely cheap for a ship this size, and you're paying for your accommodation and meals in one lump. Transatlantic cruises are long — most of your days will be at sea — but if you're after a proper break that doesn't require constant sightseeing, that's actually the point. You'll also dock in Barcelona at the end, which saves on a separate flight home if you've got the flexibility to arrange onward travel from there.

The catch? You're sourcing your own flights to Puerto Rico, which could easily add £300–600 each depending on when you book and where you're flying from. Factor that in before committing. Inside cabins are also compact, and you're sharing space for a fortnight.
