The Boarding Pass Club / Prague, planned

Your Prague weekend, sorted.

A two-day plan for a first Prague break: choose your base, compare three worthwhile experiences and leave room to enjoy the city.

Prague
Start here / two full days

One base. One main sight a day. No compulsory extras.

Already picked Prague? This plan is for a first visit with two full sightseeing days, separate from your flights. Start with your hotel location, then choose what deserves your time and money. You do not need to buy every experience below.

Make these three decisions first

01 / Your base

Choose a central base for less travel between sights, a Lesser Town hotel for the bridge setting, or a tram-connected base if the total price makes sense.

Compare three hotel choices

02 / Your main visit

Our recommendation is to reserve a generous morning for the castle if historic interiors interest you. Buy admission for the buildings you want, rather than assuming a guide is included.

Ticket or guided visit?

03 / Your optional extra

A tower visit gives you a view from above; a short cruise gives you a seated break. Pick the experience you actually want. Keep both optional on a tight budget.

Day one: Old Town, the river and an easy evening

Morning

Arrive in the city, not in a queue

Begin with Old Town Square and a walk through the surrounding streets. Seeing the Astronomical Clock from the square and visiting the tower are different activities. Decide whether the paid view adds something to your day before joining a ticket queue.

Read the tower versus clock comparison before booking. We suggest allowing a flexible morning rather than scheduling several paid attractions back to back.

Afternoon

Keep lunch and your river walk flexible

Make your way towards Charles Bridge and leave time for a cafe stop. If you only have a short first day, this can be the whole afternoon: a useful itinerary should leave room for late arrivals, weather and tired feet.

Evening

Choose a cruise or dinner ashore

For a brief change of pace, compare a short sightseeing sailing with a longer dinner cruise. Our default suggestion is the short cruise plus a restaurant of your choice; choose a dinner sailing only if the meal and time aboard are part of the attraction for you.

Choose the right river cruise — or skip the boat and keep the evening free.

Day two: the castle side of Prague

Morning

Give the castle enough breathing room

Start with the castle ticket guide. Plan around the venue's opening and closure notices for your date. A self-guided ticket works well if you want control over the pace; a guided visit is a different purchase. Do not mistake ticket-line language for a promise that every queue disappears.

Afternoon

Leave the rest of the day loose

Continue into Lesser Town if it suits your route, stop for lunch, and keep a buffer before returning for luggage or travelling to the airport. Avoid paying for a late attraction on a departure day until your transport timings are settled.

If you have less time or a tighter budget

Keep the neighbourhood walks and choose just one paid attraction. If your hotel or package already includes an activity, check that voucher before buying another. Do not force two full days into a late Friday arrival and early Sunday departure.

Before you pay

Compare the complete hotel cost for your dates, including breakfast and local charges. Add only the activities you choose, plus meals and transport. This is a suggested itinerary, not a package or an advertised all-in price.

Coming from our £109 Prague deal? Use the hotel guide to understand the location, but confirm the original package with its seller first. Buying separate hotels and flights does not recreate that package.
