Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market is Europe's largest authentic German market outside Germany, and it won't cost you entry. 180 stalls, proper bratwurst, glühwein, and the full festive setup—running through December.
The deal
Free entry to 180+ stalls selling German food, drink, and crafts. Expect bratwurst, glühwein, pretzels, and the usual Christmas market fare. No ticket required; you pay only for what you eat or buy.
Why we like it
It's genuinely large and authentic—not a sad row of wonky chalets. If you're already in the Midlands or fancying a weekend break, you get proper German market atmosphere without flying to Frankfurt or paying silly entry fees. December's the obvious time, but worth checking exact closing dates before you plan your trip.
How to book
There's nothing to book—just show up in Birmingham city centre during market hours. Check the official event page for opening times, car parking info, and which stalls are trading on any given day. Food and drink prices vary by vendor, so budget accordingly.
