Why we like it

Geneva's lakefront Christmas market, Noël au Quai, runs from 19 November to 24 December 2026 on the Quai du Mont-Blanc, with fondue chalets and a new ice rink this year. Montreux Riviera Noël, the biggest Christmas market on Lake Geneva with its Flying Santa, runs 20 November – 24 December 2026 and is about an hour away by train. Both markets close on Christmas Eve, so the 19 December dates catch the last week. From January to March the same fares are a cheap way into the Alps, with Chamonix and the ski resorts close by, and the free 10kg cabin bag means your jumpers don't all have to go on your back.

How to book

Search your airport to Geneva for your dates and book with Jet2 when you find the fare. Jack's Flight Club expects these prices to last a few days, and peak Christmas and half-term dates may go sooner. Geneva hotels aren't cheap, so compare a few nights before you commit, or stay in Lausanne or Montreux. Flight and hotel booked separately are not an ATOL package, so take out travel insurance. More festive weekends are in our Christmas markets 2026 guide. Prices correct at time of writing (16 October 2026).
