A newly opened adults-only spa resort on Crete for under £450 a night — if you're after a bit of peace and quiet by the beach, this one's worth a look.
The deal
Five nights at Nalu Resort & Spa, a brand-new 5-star hotel near Platanes Beach and Rethymno, from £449 per person. Room only (you'll sort your own food and drink).
Why we like it
Fresh property alert: the hotel only opened last year, so you're getting new facilities and decor rather than tired carpets and dated tiles. It's adults-only (16+), which means no shrieking toddlers at the pool — a genuine selling point if you value your peace. Rethymno itself is worth a wander: Venetian harbour, old town, decent tavernas.
The catch? Room-only rates mean you'll need to budget for meals separately. No flights included, either — you'll be sorting your own transport to Crete.
How to book
Head to the operator's site to check availability for your dates and lock in the price. Rates vary by season and how far ahead you book, so that £449 figure might shift depending on when you're planning to travel.
