Tony's Chocolonely Super Store Amsterdam: Free to Visit

Tucked inside the historic Beurs van Berlage on the Damrak, Tony's Chocolonely Super Store is one of Amsterdam's most enjoyable free things to do for chocolate lovers. There is no ticket, no entry fee and no booking. You simply walk in, browse the wall of bars and, if you like, design a chocolate bar of your own.

Entry is completely free. This is a working flagship shop and experience store, not a paid attraction and not a ticketed "factory tour". At busy times there may be a short queue at the door, but there is nothing to buy in advance to get inside.

Where it is

You will find the Super Store at Oudebrugsteeg 15, 1012 JN, inside the historic Beurs van Berlage on the Damrak, in Amsterdam Centrum (the city centre). The entrance is on the left side of the Beurs van Berlage as you come from Dam Square. It is roughly a 5-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal station, crossing the Damrak.

What's inside

  • The flagship chocolate shop set within the very building where Amsterdam's cocoa trading began in 1903, complete with Tony's famous "mega-monster-super-choco-wall".
  • Make your own custom chocolate bar using an in-store iPad: choose your chocolate type, add up to three ingredients and design a wrapper. It costs around EUR 10.99 and is ready for pickup in about two hours.
  • The latest and limited-edition bars, plus Tony's Lil'Bits to grab on the way out.
  • Staff known as "Superstars" who share Tony's fair-trade, anti-exploitation cocoa mission, making it an experience-led store rather than just a shop.

When to go and good to know

Because the custom bar takes about two hours to be ready, it works well to design yours early, explore the city centre, then swing back to collect it. Note that the store takes card payment only inside, with no cash accepted. Due to the heritage building, the Super Store is not wheelchair accessible.

Good news: Tony's Chocolonely Super Store is free

There's no entry ticket — you can just walk in. No need to book anything in advance.

Is it worth it?

For a free walk-in stop a few minutes from Centraal, it is an easy yes, especially if you enjoy chocolate or want a memorable, self-designed souvenir. Set your expectations correctly, though: this is a retail experience, not a guided factory tour or a ticketed attraction.

Paid experiences nearby

Entry to the Super Store itself is free and cannot be bought. If you want a paid, bookable experience to pair with your visit, there are separate Amsterdam city-centre walking tours and food and chocolate tastings run by external operators around this part of the centre. These are standalone tours and tastings, not admission to the Super Store, so book them purely as their own experience.
