Secret Island Festival returns to Mersea Island for three days of house, disco and drum and bass

Secret Island Festival is back, and this time you can properly commit to the island escape with on-site camping. Three days of house, disco, drum and bass and live bands spread across six stages—it's the kind of lineup that keeps you moving from Friday night through Sunday.

What's on

The festival runs from 7–9 August 2026 on Strood Field, East Mersea. Expect electronic and live music across six stages, with a heavy lean into house and disco alongside drum and bass and live acts. The addition of camping means you can ditch the commute and settle properly into the island vibe for the full weekend.

The vibe

Mersea Island has always felt a bit removed from the mainland, and that's the whole appeal. Secret Island leans into that isolation—six stages means you're constantly discovering something new, whether you're hunting the peak-time house set or catching a live band in a quieter corner. Camping on-site means the experience doesn't end when the main stage does; expect extended sets and a genuine festival atmosphere that carries through to Sunday night.

Getting tickets

Tickets aren't yet listed on our partner sites, so keep an eye on the festival's official channels for pricing and tier releases. Weekend and day passes are likely, and early-bird pricing typically offers good value if you book ahead.

Where to stay

Camping is available on-site, which is the whole point here—you're staying on the island. We've also picked a selection of hotels and guesthouses within easy reach if you'd prefer a bed over a tent.

Getting there

East Mersea is roughly 15 miles south-east of Colchester. From London, take the A12 towards Colchester, then follow signs to Mersea Island via the B1025. Parking is available at the festival site. Colchester railway station (about 45 minutes by train from London Liverpool Street) is your nearest station; from there, it's a taxi or local bus to the venue.
