Mark Birchall's two Michelin-star Moor Hall sits in Lancashire countryside with its own farm and lake. You can stay overnight, eat dinner and lunch there, and sleep in the house for £495 per person.
The deal
One night's bed and breakfast plus dinner (£200 tasting menu) and next-day lunch at Moor Hall. The restaurant sources ingredients from its own farm and lake. Location: Aughton, about 20 minutes from Liverpool by car.
Why we like it
You're getting two Michelin stars without paying London prices—£495pp for three meals and a room is reasonable for this calibre. The farm-to-table angle isn't just marketing; Birchall actually uses what's grown on site, which changes seasonally. It's close enough to Liverpool to make a weekend of it without the full country-house-hotel markup.
Catch: this is a one-nighter, so you're committing to at least two meals at the restaurant. If the £200 tasting menu doesn't appeal, this won't either.
How to book
Contact Moor Hall directly to arrange the stay package. You'll need to book both the restaurant and the room; they typically coordinate these together rather than listing them separately online. Best to call or email to confirm availability and any dietary requirements before committing.
