Camp Bestival's back for its 31 July–3 August run, and if you've got kids who'll sit still for live music and entertainment, glamping in a bell tent beats a muddy field every time.

Why we like it
You're paying festival prices either way, but a bell tent keeps you out of the rain and means actual sleep, rather than dozing in a wet sleeping bag at 3am. The kids' entertainment is solid — dinosaur trails and Mr Tumble will buy you a few hours of peace. It's three nights in mid-summer without the usual festival mud lottery, assuming the weather behaves.
Catch: that's the accommodation cost on top of tickets, so a family of four is looking at roughly £1,090 total (tent plus two adults, two kids' tickets). It's pricey for a festival, but fair for glamping that includes access to entertainment and activities.
